Pros & Cons
Pros & Cons
- The RockShox Recon Silver RL fork comes with a remote control that lets you lock the suspension from the handlebars for more efficiency on paved roads.
- The aluminium frame made of triple butted material offers high stiffness, which improves power transfer during accelerating.
- The SRAM SX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain gives you a wide range without the need for a front derailleur.
- The Schwalbe Rapid Rob tyres offer less grip in deep mud but perform excellently on common courses.
- Weighing 14.8 kg, the bike is a bit on the heavy side but this results in a very robust construction that will last a long time.

The Scarp's 29 inch frame is made of triple butted 6061 aluminium for an excellent balance between strength and weight. The geometry focuses on speed and efficiency, making the bike respond instantly to every pedal stroke. The RockShox Recon Silver RL fork with 100 mm suspension travel and the RockShox Monarch RL rear shock absorb every bump smoothly, ensuring a calmer ride on root sections and keeping you fresh for longer during high-intensity workouts in the great outdoors.
Shifting and braking with precision
The drivetrain consists of the reliable SRAM SX Eagle 12-speed groupset. With the single front chainring and the cassette with a range of 11 to 50 teeth, you have enough gears to climb steep hills or pick up speed on the flat - and stay in full control thanks to the hydraulic Shimano MT201 disc brakes. These brakes deliver constant stopping power in all weather conditions, so you can always come to a safe and easily modulated stop, even on a muddy course or fast descent.
Reliable finishes for everyday use
The bike is equipped with sturdy KTM Line wheels and impact-resistant Ryde Rival rims. On these are Schwalbe Rapid Rob tyres with K-Guard protection, which excel on dry and slightly damp surfaces due to their low rolling resistance. The finish with KTM Comp parts, such as the flat 720 mm handlebars and comfortable grips with lock-on mounting, ensures a direct steering feel. The KTM Line Sport saddle provides the necessary support on long rides, completing the overall look of this striking mountain bike.

A lovely, affordable and sturdy MTB.
We were looking for a good, affordable MTB for our son. We came across this KTM online at Mantel, which was on offer at the time. It’s a brilliant bike for riding in the woods. Sturdy, good-looking and a pleasure to ride. The bike is delivered ready to ride and everything works perfectly. We and our son are absolutely delighted with it.
Pros & Cons
4 / 5
Lives up to all expectations.
Yesterday I did my first ride on a mountain bike trail (completed 2 x 10 km). It was a real challenge right from the start, with steep climbs and descents featuring half-metre drops several times in a row. The bike didn’t flinch. You could hear the suspension squeaking as it did its job. I’m used to a road bike, so ploughing through the sand on this bike is a new experience – and it’s great that you can go anywhere on it. It even handles tree roots with ease. It takes a bit of getting used to the wide handlebars and the different riding position. You really feel it in your wrists.
